A 250m-high Foster & Partners office tower in Madrid has been delayed because of fears it will block flight paths into Richard Rogers' new Madrid-Barajas International Airport. The tower, which will be taller than Canary Wharf, will be part of a proposed complex of four buildings on the outskirts of Madrid by architects including Cesar Pelli and Spanish architect Carlos Rubio. The client for the Foster & Partners tower, oil and gas company Repsol, told BD that construction had begun on the tower's foundations, but work had to be stopped because of complications in the flight-path approval.
