Interior Access
An austere Gothic church in a small plaça in the Barri Gòtic area of the old city, the only concession to exterior decoration on the exterior is the massive rose window and doorway on the west front. This is quite typical of Catalan Gothic which eschews external ornament. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the church gets its full name from a pine tree that was once here.
Una iglesia gótica austera en un plaça pequeño en el área de Barri Gòtic de la vieja ciudad, la única concesión a la decoración exterior en el exterior es la ventana y el umbral color de rosa masivos en el frente del oeste. Esto es absolutamente típico de Catalan gótico que evite el ornamento externo. Dedicado a la Virgen Maria, la iglesia consigue su nombre completo de un árbol del pino que estaba una vez aquí.
The interior is vast and dark. The nave is over 56feet wide and there are two rows of chapels between the external buttresses giving the building its curiously rectangular appearance. Originally the interior had many works of art, many from the 14th century but most of these were lost during the Spanish Civil War.
El interior es extenso y oscuro. El cubo es 56feet excesivo de par en par y hay dos filas de capillas entre los contrafuertes externos que dan al edificio su aspecto curiosamente rectangular. El interior tenía originalmente muchas obras de arte, muchas a partir del 14to siglo pero de éstos fue perdido más durante la guerra civil española.
